Week 77 we are the most loved zone leaders
Mon, Mar 4
One more week had come to pass
Tuesday we taught our friend Reinaldo it was a good lessons where he and a member spent 20 minutes talking and becoming friends talking about tereré
After wards we taught our friend donizete who we found on Monday in the street who says he wants to be baptized,
Wednesday we had the mission leadership counsel, it was pretty fun because food is awesome, I also got a small PMG, we made several training videos and we made a great training video about helping people at church, and it passed the no fluffy feedback test
After the counsel we taught Reinaldo aver the phone in a park where another man came over and said we believe in a different Jesus that's not from the Bible but after a short talk he wanted to meet with us again now that he knows we believe in the same Jesus,
Then we taught donizete again in the park where we invited him to be baptized where a really old super drunk guy tried to stop us from inviting him 🤨 nice try Satan,
He decided he wants to prepare for baptism,
On Thursday we had district counsel and to try and make the missionaries like us better by bringing a cake, I'm pretty sure it mostly worked,
We afterwards had a blitz as a district in the struggling area of Costa e silva, we decided it would be best to visit the highest number of members possible to we made lists of addresses for each companionship, and we went,
Me and banks knocked our first member Door, and who answered it was a member I knew from amarais, she is apparently the daughter of a member in Costa and silva, and because I already knew her it helped a lot and she even gave us a reference of a family for us to give to the sisters
Afterwards we went and visited another address no one was coming out, I figured I'd try calling, then I hear behind me "hey elderes!" And guess who it's a member who visited amarais every week when I was there because he's a part of the stake, so we caught up and talked about how he can help the sisters in Costa e silva and he gave us a reference too,
Last house I go to knock of the member addresses and turns out it's the recent convert who's baptism interview id done, he apparently lives in a house of men who all work at the same restaurant, he wasnt home but his guys he lives with mentioned that he had talked about the church, and goes every Sunday, and then we got on of their numbers because he said he wanted to learn more,
So pretty cool blitz where my time in amarais made a really big difference the sisteres were pretty happy with the help they got
That night we visited Reinaldo and it's cool because his super catholic mom is 1000% on our side and wants us to help him change his life we sat and taught him in his garage
Friday
I woke up and there was a very clear thought almost speaking that said " if you wake up right now tereis poder pra fazer tudo quando me parecer conveniente" which is essentially the majority of Moroni 7: 33?
so I did and as I pondered about it in the shower I came to the conclusion there must be something really important to do then
It became apparent to me that I probably needed to invite Reinaldo to be baptized then,
The member who was gonna take us to the temple with Reinaldo that day sent us a text saying he'd have to do it earlier in the day and see if that works with Reinaldo, then Reinaldo calls and says that's he's gonna be busy that night because he was given a really good job offer type thing with a client and he was gonna go to dinner with said person that night and thus didn't want to go to the temple anymore, but to do it a different day, but the spirit had already said it needs to happen. So we told him we think we can make it work both commitments and that we could go to the temple earlier in the day but Reinaldo was worried about his anxiety and didn't want to do them both in the same day,
But after a lot of back and forth of us saying yes and him saying no, and us telling him that him having the spiritual experience will help him in the meeting with his client
he goes " I called to convince you guys that I wouldn't go but you guys are good missionaries and you guys convinced me so I'll go today"
The member then couldn't help us so we had to find another member and andrè ended up saving it all by helping us with the ride,
We got to the temple and he had lots of questions like why the angle Moroni and not jesus?,
We taught him about the doctrine of baptism In the temple and leandro Oliveira, who provided me with my first Sunday lunch in brasil in my first area, he was working in the temple and helped us out too,
We asked him after readying Mosiah 18 8-9 if doing those things and becoming a faithful disciple if Jesus Christ would be the desire of his heart and when we asked he said "that's probably the best question anyone's ever asked me in my life, and he said it is his desire he just doesn't know if he's capable yet, when then read the next verse and invited him to prepare to be baptized, and he said yes to the 23rd of March,
It was pretty cool waking up and already knowing the end result of the lesson,
It was also really when Leandro got emotional talking to some temple visitors about his testimony of the missionaries (they watched our whole lesson) and he said how he had the privilege of having me in his house when I didn't even know a word and Portuguese and look at me now, then Reinaldo bore his testimony to them that me and my comp and changing his life,
Later that day we bad a really spiritual lesson in the church with donizete where we taught him how his sins can be forgiven through baptism and we did magic to show it so that was cool, we even used the chapter I studied that morning 2 Nephi 4
That night we where walking in the street and a girl was crying because we fell so we did a magic trick and taught her and her mom and dad to cheer her up, so we are gonna return to teach then now which is cool
Sunday we had a great correlation meeting with the members and we ate churrasco with Marcelo's family which was super fun
That leads to now where I'm sipping tereré as I play the guitar.
