Tyler update from his mom

 Hey All,

Tyler didn't have time to write last week and it looks like he didn't write yesterday either. We talked to him yesterday as well as last week, so I'll give a brief update.

Things have been going well in his companion Trio. He has had a lot of fun with his new companions Elder Poyfair and Elder Fish. They are both from the US and they have a lot in common.
Yesterday, while talking to Randy and me on Messenger, Ty got a concerned look on his face and said "uh... I'll call you guys back." And hung up. A few minutes later he called back and told us that the mission president had just called and told him he was being transferred TOMORROW and needed to pack up his stuff tonight because another missionary was coming. (Transfers aren't supposed to be for another couple of weeks). He has been in the same area/apartment this whole time, so he seemed a little bummed about leaving. Plus he loves his companions. He will be moving about 20 minutes away to Ouro Verde. We cant wait to hear next week how all that went down.

Couple of highlights:
He got caught in some crazy rain again. It seems to happen a lot.

He and his companions gave a whole message to a guy outside his house while he listened from his window as he was taking a shower. They even prayed with him before they left, all while he took a shower. Haha

The mission presidents wife pulled Ty aside and asked if he was ok. She asked if he was eating and if he was ever going hungry or if he was sick. Tyler assured her that he wasn't going hungry and that he LOVES the food and he is not sick. He had lost a significant amount of weight though. Last week he told us he's lost 37lbs. He keeps cutting his belt to make it fit. All the other Brazillian mamas are constantly pushing more food on him because he is too skinny! (Ty feels fine though and likes how he looks.)

He ate some questionable "bougie sushi" 2 weeks ago and was sick for a few days afterwards. Yuck.

He bought the game "Risk" so he could play with his companions only to find that it was missing all of the cards.

He is teaching many people and enjoys it very much. He is sad to leave them and move on. He had had a couple of baptisms and has helped many people grow in their own spiritual journeys. The language is coming along great. He can speak and understand Portuguese very well now. He spends most of his time talking about how good the food is when he calls us! Haha

Hopefully we get another email soon and hopefully he has learned how to spell the word Catholic! 😉 Haha!
