Not the greatest week,

 I said id let you know how our weight loss competition goes, Garces got sick day 1 and in the end canceled the competition, i tried to convince him to stay, because if he gets really sick he can lose lots of weight and win the competition, but he backed out anyways, he was sick the whole week

however today we were passing by the pharmacy with the scale, and decided we would weigh ourselves anyways, so i apparently weigh 102.5 kilos now, and garces weighs 100 flat, so if we tied cause he was 102.4 last time, and i was 104.9, to be honest i don't really know what made me lose weight this week, both times we weighed we weighed ourselves on a full stomach, so it wasn't just a good bowel movement

well we canceled a lot of lunches this week because garces was sick so maybe that was it, but i'm pretty sure i ended up eating more junk food at the store because of it, 

time to talk about weird junk food at the store i ate for lunches, I tried a weird ready made chicken pot pie from the store a member bought us for lunch, its was pretty interesting, i'm not really the biggest fan, but still not bad food, i also bought myself a sandwich from the store, that made me happy, it was good, another day, a member bought us a little ready made meal from the store that was alright, it had ox ankle in it, i've eaten a lot of ox here in brazil actually, it's actually pretty good, especially the fat, this week i tried a new candy bar, that honestly is gonna have to be put at top three candy bars ive ever eaten, it's called stikadinho, its like chocolate and strawberry, after trying it i bought the bigger candy bar, and then later these little chocolate balls they have, i think it's amazing, i also bought some ruffles, they are also good,

i talked last time about a cake store that a brazilian told me about, saying it has the best cakes he's ever eaten, and that i should compare them to my moms, so i went there this week, and bought a slice of there most popular cake, it was actually very good, i thoroughly enjoyed it, chocomoço, i rank it best cake by far that i've ever tried in brazil, but not better than my moms, 

sunday lunch garces was back to health so we had lunch in person, we had it with miguel, my favorite person in brazil, they are such an awesome family, they made us a cool dessert, i'd call it crepes, but instead of crepe, is tapioca, yeah it was just tapioca, nutella and banana, its awesome, im actually gonna buy tapioca in the store now, i asked them how they made it and they taught me how, meaning i watched them put it in a pan and take it out of the pan and it was done, and they said i can eat it salty or sweet, so imma go buy tapioca now and make food with that because id never seen something look so unbelievably easy to make, they also asked me if i ever tried nutella before, i said yes, and that my sister loves it, and will buy herself nutella because usually my parents wont, and she will eat it with a spoon, that day i didnt play any games with miguel because him and his brother were busy watching moana on repeat, and told me they have seen the movie luca 14 times, whitch also reminded me of my sisters when they watched frozen/moana, on repeat all day when it came out, and as far as i remember they did the same with luca, 

we had one good lesson this week with André he teaches english so we taught him in english, i shared the cool things i learned in 1st corinthians with him, and he thought it was really cool i studied it just for his questions, he doesn't believe the book of mormon can exist with the bible and not conflict but it's alright we are working on it, we mostly just talked about the stuff we had talked about with him last time, but in the end we switched the focus, to really it doesn't matter if something is in the bible or not or what the bible says, because i could spend hours showing evidences of our beliefs in the bible, or evidences of the book of mormon in the bible e visa versa, but in the end he needs to ask god and pray about it and learn for himself to receive the answer, there's no better way to learn something than to ask god, and he accepted the invite, and said he would pray about the book of mormon to see if its true, until he receives an answer,

he also has many questions about the plan of salvation, why are there "levels'' in heaven?, and more important to him, what do i have to do to be saved?, he doesn't really believe in a necessity to be baptised, or anything, and told us that he believes all he needs to do is accept christ to be saved, and well he is kind of correct, really the plan of salvation started with the premortal life and ended with the atonement of jesus Christ, however the plan of happiness continues, we told him how as missionaries are main purpose isn't necessarily to bring people unto salvation, but that our purpose is to help every person obtain all the of the blessing of the atonement, through the atonement of jesus Christ all of us can be saved and will be resurrected, but it's through the atonement, and also the restoration of the church that we can receive all the other blessings mainly, exaltation and eternal life in the celestial kingdom, as well as countless others during our life on earth, and that its through our works we can receive these things, and that really in our lives it should be our number one goal and we shouldn't settle for anything else,

it was a really cool lesson, i'm excited to see what happens soon in the future with him,

me and garces play a card game called Pedra or rock in portuguese, its super fun idk why its called rock but its great, better with four people but to make it more interesting we bet a single penny each round, whoever wins gets the other persons penny, well i started with 8 pennies, and now i have 65 so its going pretty well i'd say 

transfers are this friday so we will see what happens with that, 

Really with Elder Garces being sick not much happened this week, everything out here is awesome, if you ever wanna talk to me or ask me a question, just send me an email, and i'm 98% that i will respond, at least by next monday,
