Week 45, Orange limes and lime oranges

 July 24, 2023

Monday! Was a district pday we played volleyball and had a BBQ,

Tuesday! I gave a district counsel that went well, and said goodbye to my first comp Elder Bryan, I'm pretty sure we made more scone calzones or as my comp informed me fogazza we added cheese this time, it was amazing, and I made the dough, it was harder than I thought it would be, but it worked out, they are so tasty, we had some good work this day too, invited a person to prepare to get baptized, he accepted but declined to put a date, but we'll see how it goes

Wednesday, I made cookies they or maybe that was Tuesday, I don't remember, I hadn't made cookies on the mission before, but it turned out well, used butter instead of shortening, mixed it with a fork, cookies are much more work than scotch bars, gotta put it balls using my hands, only got one pan, but it worked out really well and they were rather tasty, I think the brown sugar is a lot different here in Brazil, the neighbors loved them, given they don't eat these kinds of cookies here in Brazil, they rated it 11/10

We put Roseli on baptism date for August 12th, so be praying for her,

Thursday I'm pretty sure this was the day we made scone calzones again we made it again it was again amazing, I also made brownies this day, I also hadn't made brownies on the mission yet, but I made them, and again the neighbors loved them, because they don't make brownies like my mom does, and rated them 11/10

we had an awesome day were we gave 3 people blessings, and had some good visits, one visit was especially interesting as we showed up at a recent converts house at the same time as our bishop, and we shared a message, however in the middle of the message a guy who was drugged out of his mind came and interrupted us, like I've seen people drunk out of their minds, like a lot of people, like yall remember the duck story, and I've seen people totally baked from what they were smoking, but this guy was on a whole nother level, liked drugged up for real, he came in shook our hands starting with Elder Almeida, and then extremely angrily asked him if he was a foreigner, but was received as Almeida said no, then he came and shook my hand, and his hand was so incredibly limp I could probably break it by squeezing it, it was crazy, he also very very angrily asked me if I was a foreigner but Bispo told him I don't understand well, and Mr drugged got distracted and shook bishops hand, then he went and kissed dhemires (our recent convert) on the cheek and then opened his palm that had a bag of cocaine, and then tried to convince our recent convert to go and snort cocaine with him, he wasn't too happy when dhemires declined but went on his way, then bishop joked about how that stuff happened all the time to him on his mission, and I told him the duck story whitch he loved,

We also had zone counsel focused on how we can work better with the members and they want us to do a training of the members this Sunday with practices and everything on the 23rd of July that passed, we planned it all out with our ward mission leader, then our war mission leader passed it to the bishop, and somehow in the communication I was assigned to give a talk on sunday about the importance of members in the work, and they gave me a whole 5 minutes to talk...

Friday, we had an awesome lunch at a members house, but it was confusing because I was super groggy already, for some reason, and I barely felt like i was there, but they also have an inside joke and called the rice noodles, and I wasn't knowing the joke so I was a bit confused already but supposed they must be joking, but then they asked me if I like to put lime on my food or in my coke (note coke with limejuice is another level of amazing) but the confusing part was clearly they were holding and offering oranges, I was confused and said no, and then they put orange on their food, I figured that the member just confused the word, but then her daughter asked he to pass the lime that was clearly an orange, and then I had to ask to clarify I wasn't dreaming or that I still had blood going to my brain, I was informed that after all it was a lime, but orange, now I will say that the word lime and lemon is the same in portuguese, but they don't have lemons in Brazil really, so idk if it's an orange lemon or an orange lime, but either way I didn't know limes could be orange but they can, they taste like and smell like limes, just look like oranges, many oranges are actually green here, so to learn limes could be orange was a big surprise, but she has a lime tree that grows orange limes so that's dope, and we haven't stopped joking about orange limes all week, the members later dropped off three other types of oranges and orange limes so I could show my family because I told them I could have pranked them offering them limes calling it an orange,

We got some acai that night too so that was cool,

Saturday, we had an overall good day, productive I planned my talk lol,

Sunday I gave my talk to a whole 28 people, only 6 people were listening, it was rather irreverent, even the other speaker called them out asking them to please start listening, bishop didn't show up either, we were missing half the ward, we'll my talk probably made a difference with at least 6 members so that's cool, I was hoping for 60 though..

Throughout the week after 9 we have been playing hide and seek me and my comp, but rather I'm the dark, because our house is very small and doesn't have many places to hide, you also have to go hide quietly because the seeker can hear you and will be able to tell where you hide, I would say that the biggest highlight was after all spots had been used, I moved the fridge out from the wall a bit, without making a sound I might add in the same room the seeker starts, got behind the fridge put a towel on my head and shoulder, and bowed my head down, and he didn't find me until he turned the lights on, also the kitchen is the hardest room to hide in because it's also the brightest, you can see everything just fine,

Hide and seek highlights, and scone calzones brownies and cookies in the photo album below
