Mon, Dec 25, 2023
well this week was pretty neat id read the lunch calendar to remember it better but unfortunately her handwriting is difficult to read so ill half to use the app were we record everything we do everyday
last Monday after pday we went and did some lessons and they were some great lessons, we taught one woman named maria about the restoration and she seemed to really like the message and said she would pray about it,
Tuesday was cool we taught maria do socorro every single day this week but I'm only gonna talk about her once because we have been teaching her how to pray every day this week its been pretty rough, we are on day 7 of teaching how to pray in a row, she's starting to progress with it though

Wednesday
we taught a jdub about the book of Mormon and it was pretty cool! she agreed to meet again, however when we met again this time we met her husband, and he was unfortunately not interested in meeting with the missionaries or learning about the book of Mormon but other than that he was pretty cool
we taught cause and invited him to be baptized, he said no because he's been baptized in another church, but we chilling well talk about priesthood authority next time
that night we taught luis with a member and invited him to be baptized and he is preparing for the 6th of December now! however he's gonna be gone until the 3rd so i think we are gonna move the date a to be a little later,

Thursday!
i really liked Thursday because i learned a lot, that day we had a special Christmas conference with some zones, and it all just started off with the fun and games, we were all asked to wrap and bring our favorite candy with a price of 5-10 reais, so i grabbed mine, put it in 6 grocery sacks, a garbage sack, then the rest of my duck tape, a garbage sack, surrounded it in saran wrap, put it in a grocery sack , then i surrounded it in tin foil, and we ended up doing white elephant, it was pretty funny seeing every see my big ball on the table scared to grab it, it was equally funny seeing people try and make me end up with my own gift, it was most funny seeing elder Paul try to open it
we then did some Christmas karaoke, the three zones peer pressure cheered elder town into singing a song, and then likewise had me and 3 others go up with him and we sang o holy night, but i sang it as a bass among some talented tenors, i also sang some other songs too super fun, then we had some more spiritual stuff and it was really interesting, feeling a worldly joy, compared to a spiritual joy side by side and being able to more easily distinguish the difference and literally feel how temporary the worlds happiness is, and how it doesn't fill you, but leaves you sitting wishing you were doing or receiving said thing again, vs how the spirits joy actually fills you like unto how food fills you, you feel full! the world is like a bag of Doritos, im always just waiting for the next handful and it never fills me, but the spirit is like good ole Brazilian rice and beans,
i also more fully learned how Christ and his atonement can make me better and cure any problem i have,
We also had a mini testimony meeting where me and streets bore our testimonies as well as others
Friday, we had lunch with the Chileans they made some food from their country with chicken and peas and some other stuff idk how to describe it but it was good

we then ran across our area where some members gave us frozen lasagna cake and flan, which doesn't really vibe for the next 7 hours in the sun, and no one takes missionaries seriously when they have food in their hands, so we ran to the other end of our area to drop the stuff off and plan our week, we received a reference that week and she happened to live at a house we had knocked a few days before, we gave her a book of Mormon!
that night we taught sirlei and invited her once again to prepare for baptism and she accepted but did not go to church unfortunately,
Saturday,
Saturday,
we worked! shocker
Sunday was cool,
Sunday was cool,
we had one hour church, and afterwards we knew that no one was gonna mark with us because its Christmas eve (its bigger than the 25th in Brazil) and no one is gonna accept us at their door because they all have family over so we decided to get creative, we baked 125 cookies, that took forever, and then we loaded them up in a basket and went to peoples houses and talked to people in the street because who isn't gonna accept a Christmas cookie Afterall its free, we went mainly to members houses but also lots of places giving out cookies and asking people if they would know of anyone interested or in need of our message, and honestly i felt awesome about it because 1. we were able to get lots of numbers and teach on a day that usually wouldn't work, 2 we now have a better relationship with the members 3. we got to make a lot of people really extremely happy and light the world on Christmas, many people thanked us and told us they'd never seen someone do something like this before, many people also tried cookies for the first time in their lives, and certain kids realized how tasty they were and came running after us to ask for more to whom we gave more, this giving is one of the joys that fills you like beans and rice with joy, it fills others too and that's what so special and puts a smile on their face as many pass through Christmas by themselves or didn't receive any present, until some random dudes in white shirts and ties who have some funky accent they've never met in their lives come and give them some cookies and put a smile on their faces, we received some hugs and it sure left me feeling light and with joy that lasts
but that's my email this week! love yall merry chrystler!
