Continuing last week where we left off
At the end of Tuesday I had watched the new boon of Mormon video about amon and the people of limhi being freed and its definitely the best video, me and elder Ourique that day like the people of limhi covenanted to never use weapons of war again, me and Elder Ourique also covenanted to be better in certain things and try to have the same zeal that people of limhi have for their god, It was quite a special experience, and the solution that lead to the beginning of the end of certain long time zone problems,
Honestly those last two weeks as zone leader have been the craziest and most stressful weeks, I've not had weeks that were so mentally and spiritually exhausting, there was so much that required thinking in the zone, and so much mental and spiritual effort required for my own problems, and it's was through all of this craziness that I was able to learn to be better at working with all my mind and heart, because the work required to solve all the problems and help all the missionaries required all my mind and heart,
That night we had to plan with the sisters for zone counsel we made a great plan together, it was about helping our friends make and keep commitments
Wednesday was zone counsel and it was incredible , the spirit was strong and the zone really got the vision, its really rewarding how right at the very end of the transfer after using so much brain power and effort, i got to see all the effort turn into results with the missionaries i was designated to help
notably there was no hot water, and zero energy in our apartment for the first time in my entire mission the flashlight i brought was very very useful
We also found a lot of people that day
We had great accompanhaments with the leaders
That night we also got transfer news, that I would be transferred and train
and then i opened the zone chat and saw that each and every dupla had miracles involving the application of what they learned in zone counsel, dates were marked in areas that always had trouble, duplas that weren't happy, were happy having many miracles, companionships got better, the area of Castelo finally got the ball rolling, and the spirit was really powerful being able to see how god used me and the other missionaries i worked with as instruments to help others
we had a brief zone call where i said my last goodbye to the zone and i was honestly kind of sad to be leaving , it was pretty awesome seeing the whole zone so successful and excited, my joy was full
the next day on Thursday, we did an exchange with the elders who's comps where spending their last day with president, so i was with elder kartchner that whole day as i packed my bags, after i finished packing all my bags, i decided id spend my last hours in my area visiting the people we were teaching, and playing and singing hymns to them on the guitar, Reinaldo loved it and so did many other people, it was also kind of sad saying goodbye to all the people i taught and met in the area, id never had a transfer or three for that matter that passed by so fast in my entire mission, that transfer felt like a week, i said goodbye to julio cesar, who gave us food, some cold beans with tuna and bell peppers, and other stuff, that was literally amazing so freaking good, i don't even know what it was, he also gave us 7 liters of milk, which was one liter per person in our apartment that had no energy, so i drank a liter of chocolate milk that night to go with it, i ended my night laying in the dark writing two sad songs on the guitar,
the next morning was transfers, so we went to the bus station and then i snagged an uber to the mission office to wait for my new trainee there where a lot of elders that i knew who were also training two where my old comps elder banks and elder garces diaz,
they gave all of us a brief training on how to train, it was thus far not the most helpful thing I've ever had
then i got my new comp, elder menezes, in his eyes and perspective the story went like this quote him" id been praying and hoping that god would be understanding and give me a comp about my height because it would be unjust if i didn't get a comp who was short like me, and they called my name and had me walk to the front "Elder Menezes!!" i then walked up and anxiously waited to see my comp, then they announced "Elder Bremner!" i watched as i saw my new comp stand up, but then he kept standing up and just did not stop standing up, this guy was a giant,"
they took our photo and everybody laughed at the big height difference
we did some stuff at the bank for elder menezes then it was time to go to our area,
i got mine and my comps bus ticket witch notably did not have my comps name on it, but a different trainees name, and i figured id just walk to the rodaviaria from the mission office, after all its just a 30 minute walk,
i saw that my comp had only 1 suitcase, that was the size as my small one, so i asked him if he could carry my small suitcase as well given that i had 3 suitcases and a guitar now, and he asked me if the bus station was nearby, i told him it was, so we begat on our adventure, and after about a minute and a half of walking i looked back and my ccomp wasss waaayyyy behind me, but that's okay he's new to walking, i waited a bit for him to catch up, after about another 10 minutes of navigating the center, seeing a woman take a dump in the middle busy street, my comp asked me, are we close now? i told him we were closer than we were before, and thus we continued, after another 8 minutes my comp asked again are we close now? seeing he was tired, i told him yes, and took my third suitcase back, another break are we close now? i told him were were now closer, then a car stopped and saved my greenie with the words "where you headed elders!" then we got a nice 15 minute ride to the bus station,
we waited for a while there for the bus to arrive, me and sister costa both talked about how awesome the area of amparo is, my recent converts there, and how awesome an investigator i taught that she baptized is,
then we caught a bus to jundiai, and i caught up with elder banks and how he's been which was fun,
we got to bus station and caught one my bus to our house, which is in the area of my old area Rami, which was really weird deja vu,
speaking of deja vu my comps training has been thus far very similar to my own training, like in the little things, the staircase to the apartment is the same, we live on the top floor, the other elders helped us bring the suitcases up, the other elders we live with have similar amounts of mission time as how it was in my first house, we even joined the ward choir something i haven't done since my training,
that night my comp really wanted to go check out the area, but because we were whitewashing i only had a small idea as to where our area was, but i knew how to get to the chapel, so we walked there to a closed chapel, and walked back home that night, as my comp told me how volleyball and singing are gay, and not cool at all, and are for women,
my comp let me know that night that he cant lift weight, as he showed me his stomach that had been bleeding through a really ugly scar from an appendix surgery, that left him with 2 hernias a year and a half ago, and that was why he was struggling with the suitcases,
then the work began the next Saturday,
rather than give yall the one day at a time details i sum it up
we met our baptism date maria eduarda who will get baptized on the 29th this week, she is 20 years old and is really cool, and is probably addicted to "American culture",
but she now has a really sweet testimony and is going to church,
we went to teach pedro and poliana, they are awesome , and we invited a member with us who without saying anything just showed up with his 18 year old non member nephew who is now living with him named abel, We began teaching abel that day too, abel is really cool and has questions that make me wonder if he studies preach my gospel, such questions are "did got already know Adam and eve would eat the fruit? doesn't that mean it was already a part of his plan? why are we here on earth? what will happen to my spirit after i die where will it go? since we will all be resurrected how will my body be? after final judgement where will we live?"
those are a couple of his marvelous questions we put him on date for the 6th of july, and i am really excited,
god is making everything work here quite effortlessly, and ill tell yall more next week
